Me and my partners toy

Past these few weeks we’ve been working on our ” toy investigation”. This is all about creating a toy made out of cubes and being able to create all the things you need to do to a toy so it can go on the market. The maths we used are measurements, accuracy, isometric drawings, estimating, perimeter and area, price and L+W multiplying. I found this task quite challenging but it wasn’t so, so hard that i would need to say it was super challanging.

Who am I?

December9

I’ve been living in this world now for 10 years. Over these years I’ve made new friends
and learnt billions of things. I go to New Gisborne primary school and my teacher Miss John is the best, nicest and funniest teacher in all the universes. The things I love about myself is I’m able to talk and laugh. My hobbies are acting, dancing and taekwondo . Personally I think I’m a caring friend, I notice when my friends are happy, sad or angry and if they have a problem I try to help to sort it out. My strengths are read and writing if we are writing a story all these crazy ideas of things I can write about pop into my head. With reading I understand the text most of the time which makes it easy to get on with my reading. My weaknesses are maths and spelling, even if I said I was good at writing it takes me ages to edit and no matter what there’s at least one word I haven’t spelt right most of the time. But with math it is a little bit easier because I’m confident with my times table and division but not long division. Most days you would think that I’m kind funny and quirky and that’s my real personality, most of the time. For example if I’m tired, hungry, sad or annoyed I’m not my self. My quote is try your best and never give up. Probably because I can give up on the spot. I’m very very happy of who I am and I would never change anything about myself.

Teamwork!!!

December4

The special skills in are:

*You compromise, you are always open to others ideas.

* Your polite, you speak to your team mates nicely and respect their feelings.

* Not distracted, you stay on task.

* listen, this is very import so you know exactly what is going on.

No matter what you use teamwork every day, it does matter where or who you are with you use it. You might not know it but it is true. You use it with teacher, friends and family you use it to simply work stuff out that is why teamwork is one of the keys to succeed.

My teamwork quote is:

teamwork dividies the task and multiplies the success.

Shelfie

December3

The books below are the books that I’ve enjoyed reading this year. My favourite book I’ve read is probably Jacqueline Wilson’s ” Best Friends”.

This genres I’ve read this year are: fiction, diary, fantasy, scary, mystery, action, drama and non fiction. I like the book Best Friends because it’s super entertaining, I can paint a picture in my mind and it is very, very, very interesting!! I never got bored reading Best Friends and I think people who like action, drama and fiction with absolutely love this book! A goal for reading would be to read more non fiction. I used to read them a lot but now I’m not so big on them

Out of My Mind – What was the authors purpose

November30

The cover of Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper

The cover of Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper

The authors purpose for writing Out of My Mind is to make the readers feel for the main character ( Melody ) in the story. This will make the story much more eaiser to read and understand and it will be more entertaining to read. The author wants this so people enjoy the book and feel for the character and be able to visualise what’s happening and really get into the book.

The themes of the book are: friendship with rose, empathy for ollie, disabalites because Melody had cerebral pasly , persistence when she stood up to Claire and Molly and Resilience for when all the people teased her she ignored her.   What I’ve learnt from this book is to not let people put you down stand up for others and respect peoples differnces.

The big painting

The big painting was built by Tom Robert. The painting gets it name from how giant it is!! The paintings is 3 metres across and 5 metres wide ( 15 square metres ) that’s huge!!
Really the pictures name is: The Opening Of The First Parliament of the Commonwealth  of Australia by H.R.H. The Duke of Cornwall and York ( later H.M. King George V) May 9, 1901. I believe that that is one of the biggest names for paintings ever!!

Remembrance Day

November11

Remembrance Day is all about remembering the soldiers who fought for Australia’s freedom in the war. To remember them we wear Poppy’s and at 11:00 on the  11th day of the 11th we have a minute silence to remember the people who died from fighting for the freedom we have now.

We’ve created a tree with Poppy’s. On the poppys we have written our hopes for the nation’s future.

My narrative: When Magic Strikes

November4

There’s no one in sight. The wind is howling and the streets
are deathly quiet. I fling the rusty wooden door open suddenly… “Sandy! How are you!” Smiles Mr. Pino. He runs his fingers down my silky blond hair. “I’m great mr. Pino!” I grin. Mr Pino is my magic camp leader he’s so, so funny!! I see a rusted sign reading spells day. “Sandy I got some great fun for you!” Mr. Pino does jazz hands “you get to try new spells!” I love experimenting with spells! They are so fun I sprint to the spells room.

There’s some sort of colourful liquids lying on the desk. What are these? Those sandy are potions. Cool I yell, I go out of control pouring potions in a glass suddenly… Whoosh! Green dust swirls around my skinny body and.. Bang! I get smaller, grow wings, my legs even get a bit hairy! OMG..I’m a fly!

I start buzzing around shouting ” this is so fun, I can go anywhere!” Then it hits me where should I go? I go into the best house I’ve ever seen. It’s placed right in the middle of the street. I go in though a mutant crack. Mrs. Posh was there. Suddenly a scream! Mrs. Posh points a giant bottle of fly spray at me, I’ve never been so scared in my life! While Mrs. Posh is going crazy trying to spray me I get hairier.. Plop! I land on the ground. I’m a dog!! Crash! Mrs. Posh faints! I run out of the door. I start to feel sick my dog fur turns into feathers. Suddenly I shoot up into the sky. I’m a bird I’m so high. It’s so cool until… Instead of raining cats and dogs it’s running horses! I hit the bush ground I’m a wild mustang, there’s horses in the distance I catch up some how I can hear them talking!

Suddenly I’m back at the magic camp with Mr. Pino looking at me in shock. I blurt out…. Can I do it again!?
